Foto bvhh.nu 2013.<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>Het Rijksmuseum down memorylane \u2014<\/em> <\/span>Op weg naar 3 maart<a href=\"#3maart\">*<\/a> maak ik een <em>trip down memory lane<\/em>&nbsp;waar ik op verschillende plaatsen herinneringen heb aan het hemelse Jeruzalem. Een van de meest prominente locaties tijdens deze tour is toch wel het Rijksmuseum te Amsterdam van de oude heer Cuypers. Et voil\u00e0 &#8230; hier staat mijn proefschrift op een paar stevige pijlers: de voorgevel met het beeldprogramma waarachter de esthetica van Pierre J.H. Cuypers, J.A. Alberdingk Thijm en Victor E.L. de Stuers schuilgaat. De voorbereiding van 3 maart was een perfecte aanleiding om de Engelse samenvatting van Arbeid &amp; Bezieling eindelijk eens on line te zetten. Na ruim 20 jaar mocht dat ook wel eens. Kortom, wat het Rijksmuseum te maken heeft met de <em>Caelestis urbs<\/em>, vind je hier: <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/VHH2AnB\">bit.ly\/VHH2AnB<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Wist je trouwens dat de componist Alphons Diepenbrock zijn compositie op de oeroude tekst van de kerkwijdingshymne Caelestis urbs Jeruzalem speciaal voor Cuypers\u2019 zeventigste verjaardag schreef. De premi\u00e8re vond plaats in het Rijksmuseum en als je denkt in termen van het gesamtkunstwerk van Richard Wagner zou je kunnen stellen dat het gebouw op het moment van die eerste uitvoering definitie voltooid werd.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kIG5P9n54sQ\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>En om de trip <em>down memory lane<\/em> te vervolmaken, het was toch een hele belevenis dat deze hymne werd uitgevoerd bij mijn promotiefeest in Kasteel de Haar in 1995. Eerder gebeurde dat al bij het jubileum van het Cuypersgenootschap (1994), waar ik toen secretaris van was. Ik kreeg er lovende reacties op, waaronder deze van Annelei Engelberts<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanhellenberghubar.org\/index.php\/presentatie-wikken-wegen-bij-de-rechtbank-limburg\/\">*<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Gisteravond bedacht ik in de trein waarom je lezing zo goed was: het w\u00e1s geen lezing, het was een vertelling. Tijdens het deel na de pauze dacht ik: nou ze overschrijdt de beschikbare tijd. Dat kon mij niets schelen, maar ik had het idee dat je al uren bezig was terwijl je helemaal binnen het schema bleek te zijn. Een lezing gaat altijd een beetje over aangeleerde materie maar dit was helemaal van jouzelf. Met aanstekelijk enthousiasme.
