Je zou het niet zeggen, maar er zijn verschillende overeenkomsten tussen dit gebouw en de nieuwe Bavo, waaraan hij in de laatste fase (1929-1930) heeft meegewerkt. Dat geldt met name voor het decoratieprogramma, dat in een ander item aan de orde zal komen. Bijzonder is de met glad geschaafd hout afgeschoten kap op geknikte schoren. Hoewel de dragende onderdelen aan het oog onttrokken zijn, volgt de bekleding de structuur, waardoor deze herkenbaar is gebleven. Hoewel het jammer is dat de oorspronkelijke banken verdwenen zijn, wordt de nieuwe opstelling met lichte, houten stoelen als meer uitnodigend ervaren.
